True “wild” European quails (Coturnix coturnix) don’t lay so many eggs during the breeding season … It is absolutely not like the other species
But sometimes, some females make a nest more in the month of September.
This year, I am quite happy because the breeding pairs 2, 4, 6, 10, 11 and 16 are laying again (September 3th). All the other birds are now in pause until… next year!
I took the opportunity with the nice daylight of September to take a few pictures of my gladiolus-flowered breeding block.
