April 2013. It was a great honour for me to make a modest contribution to a scientific study on Chinese painted quail, a species I am particularly fond of.
I contributed by providing feather samples and hatching eggs from Chinese painted quail (Coturnix chinensis) with the “US-Redbreasted” mutation.
The eggs were incubated and hatched in Spain, and the resulting offspring were used in the study.
The results of this study were published in the scientific journal Animal Genetics (Wiley-Blackwell):
